BOOKEM APP PRIVACY POLICY

At Bookem LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), we value your privacy and take the responsibility of handling your personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Bookem mobile application (“App”). By downloading or using our App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App immediately.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Personal Data: We may collect your name, email address, and phone number to create or manage your account, respond to inquiries, or facilitate reservations. For car rentals, certain partners may require a driver’s license photo for verification. Providing a profile photo is optional and is not publicly displayed.
1.2 Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, such as device type, IP address, App version, and browsing actions, to improve functionality and tailor features to user preferences.
1.3 Booking Data with Third Parties: If you make a reservation or booking (e.g., restaurant, car rental, event tickets), we share necessary details (such as name, phone number, or email) with the relevant venue or provider to process and confirm your reservation. Payments or financial transactions are handled by the third party under its own privacy policy.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
(a) Reservations and Bookings: We use your personal information to facilitate reservations with third-party venues, including sharing your name, email address, or phone number if required by the venue.
(b) Verification: If you upload a driver’s license photo for car rentals, it is used strictly to confirm eligibility.
(c) User Experience: Usage data helps us troubleshoot issues, analyze performance, and develop new
features.
(d) Communications: We may send updates, service-related notifications, or promotional messages; you can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
(e) Legal Compliance: We may process or disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
3. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
(a) Third-Party Providers: We may share personal data with vendors (e.g., hosting, analytics) who help operate our App, subject to confidentiality obligations.
(b) Venues and Partners: When you make a reservation, we share necessary information with the venue or partner (e.g., name, contact details, driver’s license if required by the rental partner).
(c) Legal Obligations: We may disclose your data to comply with legal requirements or to protect Bookem, its users, or others.
4. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or to comply with legal requirements. Driver’s license photos are retained only as needed to verify eligibility for car rentals and then securely stored or deleted per legal and partner requirements.
5. SECURITY MEASURES
We employ reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
If we transfer personal data outside of the UAE or your home country, we ensure it is protected in accordance with local data protection regulations, such as using contractual clauses or verifying adequate security standards.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access or update your personal information, request deletion of certain data, or object to specific processing activities. You may also opt out of marketing messages by following unsubscribe instructions or contacting us directly.
8. POLICY UPDATES
We may revise this Privacy Policy at any time, and any changes will be posted within the App along with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the App after these changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the revised Policy.
9. ACCOUNT DELETION
You may request to delete your Bookem account at any time from within the App. If your email and mobile number have both been verified, the App will allow you to initiate deletion by selecting “Delete My Account” in your account settings. You will then receive a One-Time Password (OTP) via your verified email address and/or verified phone number - whichever verification method you have completed, or both.
Once the correct OTP is entered, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. If the OTP
is not entered correctly, the account will remain active for security reasons.
Once your request is processed:
● Your profile, data, and booking history will be permanently deleted.
● Any active bookings will be canceled.
● Some transactional data (e.g., receipts) may be retained as required by law.
After deletion, any future login attempt will redirect you to the login page, where you will need to register again to use the App.
